Brett is the Managing Director of Western United and has a corporate client portfolio.

Brett joined the Insurance industry in 1981 and was employed as an Account Executive for 3 International Brokers where he gained extensive experience handling the insurance programs of large corporate / international companies.

Brett started at Western United in 1992 as State Manager for South Australia. He transferred to Perth in 1996 and was appointed a Director in June 1998. In March 2001 he purchased 51% controlling interest in the company.

In 2010, Brett won the Local Chambers Business Person of the Year award.

Brett served on the National Insurance Brokers Association Committee for 16 years including 2 years as the President in WA.

Brett holds a Diploma in Financial Services (Broking and is accredited as a Qualified Practicing Insurance Broker (Q.P.I.B).

Ron Broadbent

Non Executive Director (Regional Operations Manager – Austbrokers Holdings Ltd)

Ron joined the Insurance Industry in 1995 following a career in banking and has been in his current role with Austbrokers Holdings Ltd since 2000.

The role sees Ron acting as a Non Executive Director on behalf of Austbrokers who hold a shareholding in Western United Financial Services.

Ron has an MBA from Charles Sturt University, has an Advanced Diploma of Financial Services, is a QFSR (Qualified Financial Services Representative) & is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Angela Samulkiewicz

General Manager

Angela is responsible for all day to day operations including finance, human resources and compliance within the organisation.

Angela started working in the insurance industry in 2000 and joined Western United in May 2002 as a broker before changing roles in December 2005.

Angela holds a Diploma in Financial Services (Broking and is accredited as a Qualified Practicing Insurance Broker (Q.P.I.B).

Cole Maguire

Account Director

Dip Fin Serv (Broking), QPIB

Cole joined the insurance industry in 1987.

Prior to joining Western United, Cole was one of the five Directors' of a Perth based general insurance broking firm, CKA Risk Solutions Pty Ltd (CKA), where he spent 12 years.

Throughout his career, Cole has gained extensive experience in designing, placing and servicing some of the most complex insurance programs for clients in a wide variety of industries such as mining & natural resources, heavy industrial, manufacturing, construction, marine, heavy haulage and the professional services sector.
